Picking a gift for an acquisitions editor
An acquisitions editor spends the day reading what hasn't been published yet, then decides which manuscripts deserve a place on the list. It's part taste, part persuasion, and a lot of reading at night. They go to editorial meetings, argue for the book they love, and sometimes break the news to an author that it's not the right fit. If you're buying for one, skip the generic book-lover gift and go for something that names the actual job. A tee that says acquisitions editor on the front gets a laugh from colleagues who know exactly what it means. A mug is the right size for a long afternoon with a stack of pages. You can add a second line to many designs: a imprint name, a favorite genre, or a line about the slush pile. For a new hire or a promotion, put the title on a hoodie they'll wear on the commute and on the weekends when they're still reading submissions.
Acquisitions Editor gift questions
Can I add an imprint or genre to the design?
Many designs have a second line you can fill in. Type the imprint name, a genre like thriller or cookbook, or a short phrase, and check the preview before you order.
What's a good gift for an editor who reads all day?
Something for the hours they're not reading, like a hoodie for the weekend or a mug for the desk. A design that names their job still feels personal without adding to the pile.
Is this the same as a managing or copy editor?
No, they're different jobs. An acquisitions editor finds and signs new books. If your person has another title, type that instead and the designs will update.
Can I order one for a whole editorial team?
Yes. The Team Shop prints one design for a group. Paste the list of names, choose a size for each person, and each shirt prints with its own name.
What sizes do the acquisitions editor shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does an acquisitions editor gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
