Picking a gift for an acquisitions librarian
An acquisitions librarian decides what ends up on the shelves, and that means a working life of publisher catalogs, vendor quotes, review journals and budget spreadsheets. Most of their best work is invisible. Patrons just find the book they needed and never wonder how it got there. So a gift that names the job, even a title most people have never heard of, tends to land. It tells them somebody noticed. Think of a soft tee for casual Fridays, a hoodie for the chilly stacks, or a mug for a desk that always has a cup going next to a pile of review copies. Add their name, or a line like Collection Development or Books Are My Budget, and it feels like theirs. Colleagues often chip in together, so the Team Shop is handy when you're buying for a whole technical services department around a retirement or a staff appreciation day.
Acquisitions Librarian gift questions
Can I put a department name on the shirt instead of just the title?
Yes. Many designs have a second line, so you can type Technical Services, Collection Development or the library's name in your own words.
Is acquisitions librarian too specific a title for a gift?
Not if they're the one buying the books. The specificity is the point. You can also choose a general librarian design and type acquisitions librarian into the text box.
Can I add their name along with the job title?
Yes. Type their name in the text box and the live preview shows how it sits with the title before you order.
Is there something for a retirement or a colleague's farewell?
A mug or hoodie with their name and the years they served makes a keepsake. For a group gift, use the Team Shop so each coworker's shirt carries their own name.
What sizes do the acquisitions librarian shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does an acquisitions librarian gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
