Gifts from Chowchilla
Chowchilla is a small city in the San Joaquin Valley, where the farms and the people who work them set the rhythm of the year. A Chowchilla shirt tends to go to someone who grew up there and left, or to someone still there who wants to say it plainly. Because the town is small and close-knit, a shirt with the name on it reads as a statement of home rather than a tourist souvenir. It works well for a former resident coming back for a reunion, a high school alum, or a family that has been in the valley for generations. Pick the design that fits their feel, add a second line with a street, a class year or a family name, and the shirt starts to say something specific about who they are. A hoodie suits the cooler months, and a mug suits the kitchen where the morning starts.
