Picking a gift for a collection development librarian
A collection development librarian decides what a library buys, weeding old shelves, balancing budgets, and answering to patrons and vendors all at once. Their day is spreadsheets, catalog reviews and conversations about why a title got cut, so the gifts that land are the ones that honor that quiet, careful work. A tee that says their job title gets a laugh from fellow librarians and a nod from anyone who knows what the role involves. A mug is a natural fit for the reference desk or the staff room, where the coffee runs hot through long budget meetings. A hoodie covers the cold stacks and the early-morning acquisitions review. Add their library name or branch on a second line if you know it, and the gift becomes specific to where they work. It's the detail that tells them you pay attention to what they actually do.
Collection Development Librarian gift questions
Can I add the library name to the design?
Yes. Many designs have a second line, so you can type the library or branch name there. The preview updates live, so you can check the spacing before you order.
Is there a design for the whole collection development team?
Yes. Use the Team Shop to choose one design, paste the team's names, and pick a size for each person. Everyone gets a shirt with their own name on it.
Will this work as a gift for a retiring librarian?
It can. A mug or hoodie with their title and a retirement year is a personal keepsake from their colleagues.
What sizes do the collection development librarian shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a collection development librarian gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
