Gifts for Fire Inspectors

Picking a gift for a fire inspector

Fire inspectors spend their days walking through restaurants, apartment buildings, schools and warehouses looking for the things that could go wrong: blocked exits, missing extinguishers, overloaded outlets, a storage room stacked too close to the furnace. It's careful, often unglamorous work, and the people who do it rarely get thanked for the fires that never happened. A gift that acknowledges that quiet vigilance tends to land well. A tee they can wear on a day off, a hoodie for the cold mornings of site visits, or a mug for the desk where they write up their reports. Put the title on it as the main line, and add a second line for a department, a county or a year they started, so it reads as their own job and not a generic uniform. Fire inspectors often work with fire departments and code offices, so the details that matter most are the ones only their colleagues would recognize.
