Gifts for Head Neck Surgeons

Picking a gift for a head neck surgeon

Head and neck surgeons spend long operating days on very small, very precise work, often within a few millimeters of nerves and major vessels. They also handle some of the hardest conversations in medicine, with patients facing cancers of the throat, mouth, thyroid and sinuses. A gift that acknowledges that focus tends to land better than a generic doctor joke. A tee or hoodie with their title gives them something comfortable for the long days in clinic and the rare Saturday off, and a mug suits the coffee they drink between cases. Put their name on it, and add their specialty line exactly as they use it, so the shirt reads as theirs rather than as a souvenir. If you're buying for a whole department or a residency class, one design with each surgeon's name on their own shirt is a thoughtful way to mark a milestone like a fellowship or an anniversary of the practice. Many surgeons also wear scrubs under their white coat, so a dark tee is the one they'll reach for on call nights.
