Picking a gift for a highway design engineer
Highway design engineers spend their days on the parts of a project most drivers never think about: alignments, sight distances, drainage, the geometry of an interchange that has to work for a decade of traffic. Their work shows up as a road that just feels right, and they often get little credit for it. A gift that names the job tells them someone noticed. A tee for site visits, a hoodie for the cold winter bid season, or a mug for the desk where the plan sets pile up will all do it. You can make it theirs by adding their name or the year they got their PE license, if they have one, or simply the firm or agency line if you know it. Keep it to what they'd actually want to see on their chest. Many of these engineers also like a joke about roundabouts, so a design with a little road humor can land well.
Highway Design Engineer gift questions
What does a highway design engineer actually do?
They design the geometry of roads: alignments, grades, intersections, interchanges, and drainage. They work from surveys and traffic data to make roads safe and efficient, and they usually coordinate with planners, environmental staff, and contractors.
Can I add a professional license or credential?
Yes, if they hold one. Type their PE license or certification into the second line of the design, or use their name and the year they got licensed.
Is there a special day for engineers?
National Engineers Week is held in February each year, and many engineers celebrate it with coworkers. It's a good time to order if you're shopping for a group.
Can I get matching shirts for a whole design team?
Yes. Use the Team Shop, pick one design, paste the team's names, and choose a size for each person so everyone gets their own shirt.
What sizes do the highway design engineer shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a highway design engineer gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
