Picking a gift for an image archivist
An image archivist looks after collections of photographs, slides, negatives and digital files, deciding what gets catalogued, preserved and made findable for researchers, curators and the public. Much of the work is quiet and meticulous: checking metadata, handling fragile prints with gloves, and planning for file formats that may not exist in twenty years. Gifts that land tend to honor that patience. A tee or hoodie with their title shows you understand what they do, and adding the institution or a second line for their specialty, such as photographs, slides or digital collections, makes it personal. For a sweater-weather colleague who spends long afternoons in cool, dim storage rooms, a warm hoodie is practical. A mug suits the desk where they cross-check a dozen captions before lunch. Type their exact title into the text box and the preview shows you how it sits before you order.
Image Archivist gift questions
Can I add an institution or specialty under the title?
Many designs have a second line. Type the museum, library or specialty there, such as photographs, film or digital, and check the preview before you order.
Which products have image archivist designs?
Designs are available on T-shirts, dark T-shirts, kids T-shirts, hoodies, 11oz mugs and baby onesies. Each product shows the number of designs available.
Can I order shirts for my whole archive team?
Yes. Use the Team Shop: choose one design, paste the team's names, and pick a size for each person. Each shirt prints with its own name.
What if my archivist's job title is slightly different?
Type the exact title you want into the text box. Any wording you enter will update the preview, so you can match their role precisely.
