Gifts from Kalkaska
Kalkaska is a small town in northern Michigan, the kind of place where people know each other and most of the summer happens near the water. A shirt with the town's name is how someone who grew up there, or who spent summers in the area, can show it without a long explanation. It's a good fit for someone who moved away and misses the drive home, or for a local who wears their hometown on everything. Because the name is less familiar than a big city, a shirt also starts conversations: people ask where it's from, and the answer gives you something to talk about. Add a second line with a street, a school class year or the year they moved away and the gift becomes personal. A mug works well for the kitchen of someone who still keeps a little piece of northern Michigan in their routine.
