Gifts for people into kettle drum
A kettle drum is the big bowl-shaped drum that sits in the back of the orchestra, the timpani player's instrument. Timpanists tune by ear, with a pedal or hand crank, and they often wait forty bars of silence before playing one loud note that has to land exactly right. That's the kind of musician who appreciates a gift that takes their instrument seriously. A shirt with kettle drum on it is a nod to the one section most of the audience never looks at, and a hoodie is the thing they'll wear to rehearsal in a cold hall. A mug works for the early-morning practice, and it can carry the name of their band, orchestra or school in the second line. If you're buying for a student who just took up timpani, the same design on a kids shirt makes the first concert feel real.
Kettle Drum gift questions
What is a kettle drum?
A kettle drum is another name for a timpano, the large copper-bowled drum used in orchestras. The player changes its pitch by adjusting the head's tension, so one player can cover several notes.
Can I add the name of their orchestra or band?
Yes. Many designs have a second line, so you can type in an orchestra, band, school or a name.
Is there a kids version?
Yes. There are kids T-shirt and dark kids T-shirt designs for young players.
Can I order shirts for a whole section or ensemble?
Yes. Use the Team Shop: pick one design, paste the list of names, and choose a size for each person.
What sizes do the kettle drum shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a kettle drum gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
