Picking a gift for a materials intern
A materials intern is usually a student or recent grad working in a lab or on a plant floor, learning how metals, polymers, ceramics or composites behave under stress and heat. Days are full of sample prep, test runs, data sheets and the occasional cleanup of a shared bench, and most of the learning happens through questions asked to people who are busy. A gift that acknowledges that is a nice fit. A tee or hoodie is something they can wear to the lab on a cold morning or to a campus event, and a mug suits the long stretches of reading and note-taking. If you want it to feel personal, add their name and the year or season they're interning, so it marks the internship and not just the job title. For a summer intern, a hoodie is a good choice since many labs keep their rooms cool. Whatever you pick, a name or dates on the design make it theirs.
Materials Intern gift questions
Can I add their name and the internship year?
Yes. Many designs have a second line, so you can type a name or a year there and check the preview before you order.
Can I add the company or lab they work for?
You can type anything you like into the text box, but the design won't be linked to any company or program. If you want the lab name on it, write it as plain text.
Is this a good gift for the end of an internship?
Yes. A tee or mug with their name and dates marks the end of the summer, and it works well for a coworker or mentor to give.
Which designs work best for a lab setting?
The hoodies and dark tees hold up well to daily wear, and the 11 oz mug is a practical pick for the bench.
What sizes do the materials intern shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a materials intern gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
