Picking a gift for a mechanic
Mechanics spend their days under hoods and under cars, and they go through shirts faster than almost anyone. Grease, brake dust and coolant take a toll, so a gift that's meant to be worn at the shop should be something they won't mind ruining, and a second one that stays clean for off-duty days. Dark tees hide the stains well, and a hoodie handles a cold garage in January. Most mechanics also have a specialty and a bit of pride about it: diesel, European imports, transmissions, classic muscle, motorcycles. Put it on the shirt. Add their name, the shop's name, or the year they opened, and it reads like something they'd have picked out themselves. A mug is a safe bet for the counter or the bench, since it'll sit near the coffee pot all day. If you're buying for a whole crew, the Team Shop prints one design with each person's name, so the shop looks like a team on the floor and in the photo.
Mechanic gift questions
Can I put a specialty like diesel or European cars on a mechanic shirt?
Yes. Many designs have a second line, so you can type Diesel, Transmissions, Classic Cars or whatever they work on. The preview updates so you can check how it fits before you order.
Should I pick a light or dark shirt for a mechanic?
Dark shirts hide grease and stains better, so they suit everyday shop wear. Light shirts look good for off-duty days, car shows or a gift they'll keep clean. Plenty of designs come in both.
Can I add a shop name or a year to the design?
If the design has a second line, type the shop name or the year the shop opened there. If it's a single-line design, you can change the main text instead.
Are there mechanic designs for a kid or a baby?
Yes, a smaller selection comes as kids tees and a baby onesie. They're a fun gift when a mechanic's son or daughter wants to match Mom or Dad in the garage.
What sizes do the mechanic shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a mechanic gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
