Picking a gift for an optical scientist
Optical scientists spend their days building the things that bend light: lenses, lasers, fiber links, imaging systems that have to line up to a fraction of a wavelength. Their work is precise and often invisible, so a gift that shows off the job in plain sight tends to land well. A tee or hoodie with their title on it is something they'll wear to a lab, a conference or a weekend trail run, and people will ask about it. A mug suits the lab bench or the home office, where coffee is usually the main instrument. If you know their specialty, such as imaging, photonics or laser systems, put that on the second line, since it's the detail most colleagues would notice first. If you're unsure of the exact wording of their title, ask them, or keep it simple and let the word do the talking.
Optical Scientist gift questions
Can I add a specialty or a year to the design?
Many designs have a second line. Type a specialty like imaging or photonics, or a year, and the preview will update so you can check it before ordering.
Is there a version for a whole research group?
Yes. Use the Team Shop: pick one design, paste the names of everyone in the group, and choose a size for each person.
Which item is best for someone who works in a lab?
Most people in a lab wear a tee under a jacket or use a mug at the bench, so those are the usual favorites. A hoodie suits colder workspaces.
What sizes do the optical scientist shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does an optical scientist gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
