Gifts from Slocum
Slocum is a small name, and the place it points to is likely a small town or a family name rather than a big city, so a shopper here may be buying for someone who wears a hometown proudly and gets a little pleased when a stranger has heard of it. A shirt with the word on it is an easy conversation starter at a family reunion, a school event or a visit back home. Since the name is uncommon, a gift that spells it out clearly and adds one personal detail will land better than a generic souvenir. Add the year they moved, a street, a family name or the name of the place they grew up in, and the shirt becomes theirs. A hoodie suits the cooler months and a mug suits the kitchen table where most people end up telling their stories.
