Picking a gift for a step down unit nurse
A step down unit nurse has usually spent years at the bedside before moving into a role that's slightly less intense but still exhausting. They're the ones who keep a patient stable after a rapid response, or who transfer someone out of the ICU with a plan the floor can actually follow. They work long shifts, carry a lot of responsibility, and rarely get a day that feels fully theirs. A gift that acknowledges that path lands well: a tee for the commute, a hoodie for the chilly break room, a mug that's clearly theirs so it doesn't wander off during a long shift. Put the phrase on the shirt exactly as they describe it, or add their unit underneath, such as Step Down or Telemetry, so it feels specific rather than generic. If you're buying for a whole team, the Team Shop lets you print one design with everyone's name on their own shirt, which tends to mean more than another round of coffee.
Step Down Unit Nurse gift questions
What does a step down unit nurse do?
A step down unit nurse cares for patients who need more monitoring than a general floor provides but don't need full intensive care. They watch for changes, manage medications and help move patients toward discharge or a higher or lower level of care.
Can I add their name or credential to the shirt?
Yes. Many designs have a second line for a name, a credential or a unit. Type it in and the preview will update so you can check the spacing.
Is there a good gift for a nurse who just started in step down?
A mug or tee with their name and the unit is a simple, lasting choice. It marks the move without assuming they've mastered the job yet.
What sizes do the step down unit nurse shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a step down unit nurse gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
