Gifts from Vinalhaven
Vinalhaven is an island town in Penobscot Bay, reached by ferry from Rockland, and most people who live there will tell you that the water sets the pace of life. Winters are quiet and boats are hauled out early, summers bring summer people and a crowd at the harbor, and the island's identity runs through lobstering, granite and a close community where everyone knows whose truck is whose. A Vinalhaven shirt is how someone who grew up there, or who spent a summer there and never got over it, carries the island with them. It works best for the person who has left and misses the ferry horn, for the island kid heading off to college, or for a visitor who wants a souvenir that isn't a generic lighthouse. Add the year they were born there, a family name or a second line with the harbor they fish from, and the shirt stops being a place and becomes theirs. A mug suits the kitchen table in the city apartment, and a hoodie is the thing they'll reach for on the first cold morning back in Maine.
Vinalhaven gift questions
Can I add a family name or a year to a Vinalhaven design?
Many designs have a second line for a name, a year or a harbor. Type it in and the preview will update so you can check the spacing before you order.
Is there a Vinalhaven design for kids?
Yes. There are kids tees, dark kids tees and baby onesies with Vinalhaven designs, so a young islander or a new baby can wear the name too.
What's the best gift for someone who grew up on the island?
A hoodie or tee with the island name and the year they were born or left is a good choice. It feels personal without needing to say much.
Can I order shirts for a group visiting the island together?
Yes. Use the Team Shop: pick one design, paste the list of names, and choose a size for each person. Each shirt prints with its own name.
What sizes do the vinalhaven shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a Vinalhaven gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
