About this guthrie center gift
Guthrie Center is a small town in central Iowa, and the people who live there tend to stay tied to it. Many move away for school or work and then come back for the county fair, the holidays or a family funeral. A shirt or mug with the town name is how someone who left says where they're from, and how someone who never left says they're proud of it. Small-town gifts land best when they feel specific. Think of the high school ballfield, the Christmas parade or the drive in on the state highway. Pick a shirt for the grandparent who still gets the local paper, a hoodie for the college freshman missing the Iowa winters, or a mug for the coworker who always talks about home. Use the second line to add a year, a school class or a family name, and the gift becomes theirs and not just a souvenir from the town.
