About this canvas gift
Canvas is a word that tends to show up in the stories of people who make things with their hands, so it's not really a city in the usual sense. Whoever this gift is for might be a painter, a sailor who knows the old sailcloth, a teacher who has taught the craft to a room full of students, or simply someone who has always loved the feel of an unfinished surface waiting for a mark. A gift for that person works best when it respects the making they do. A tee or hoodie gives them something soft to wear while they work, and a mug fits the stool beside the easel or the workbench where the coffee goes cold. For a family member or friend, a kids tee or baby onesie can carry the word forward to the next generation of makers. Add a second line for their studio, their year of graduation, or the name they sign their work with, and the shirt starts to feel like their own.
