About this diversity internship gift
A diversity internship is usually a student or early-career person who spent a summer or semester learning how an organization builds inclusive hiring, mentoring and workplace policies, often while being the only person in the room who looked like them. They're probably tired of hearing that the program was a great experience and want to hear that someone noticed the work. What lands well is something that marks the internship itself: the program name, the organization or department if they're comfortable with it, and the year. A hoodie suits the cold office where they spent the fall, a tee works for the first day of the next semester, and a mug is the one they'll reach for during early-morning reading. Keep the wording plain and specific to their role, and the gift will read as a real acknowledgment rather than a generic congratulations.
