About this field instructor gift
A field instructor is the person who takes a new hire, a student or a trainee out into the real work and shows them how it's done. In practice that might mean supervising a nursing student on a clinical rotation, guiding a social work intern through home visits, or coaching a new employee through the first weeks on site. The days are long, often split between the supervisor's own caseload and the evaluation paperwork, and the best ones are spent watching someone else finally get it. A gift that acknowledges that patience lands well. A tee or hoodie with their title on it works for the outdoors and the commute, and a mug fits the desk where they write notes at the end of a day. Add a second line with their organization's program name or a cohort year, which makes the gift specific to the people they've trained. Since field instructors often mentor a rotating group, a shirt marks a graduating class or a season of supervision in a way that a card can't.
