About this managing editor gift
A managing editor is the person who keeps the whole newsroom or publication moving: they juggle deadlines, assign stories, fight with copy desks and calm down writers at six in the evening. They're usually the last to leave and the first to notice a missing comma in a headline. A gift that acknowledges that grind works best. Something they can wear to the office on a long day, or a mug for the cup of coffee that's gone cold while they edited someone else's draft. Put their title on it and it becomes a small nod to the work nobody sees. If you want it to feel specific, add the publication name or the section they run, like Metro, Features or Digital, on the second line. That turns a generic job shirt into one that makes sense to the people who work beside them.
All managing editor gifts →- A tee for the newsroomA light or dark tee with managing editor on the front is an easy everyday pick for the office or a remote workday.
- A hoodie for late closesEditors often work late and cold, so a hoodie with their title covers the evening shift from the couch at home too.
- A mug for the deskAn 11 oz mug with their title keeps the coffee hot through another round of edits and stays on the desk when they're buried in copy.
- A shirt for a promotionIf they just moved into the role, add the year they took over on a second line to mark the milestone.
