About this mertens gift
Mertens is a surname with roots in Belgium and the Netherlands, and it has a small but real following in parts of the US Midwest and Pennsylvania, so a Mertens shirt tends to get a second look from anyone who knows the name. The person who'd receive this gift might be a Mertens by birth, a relative who carries the name, or someone who simply loves a name that's a little unusual. Whatever the connection, the gift lands best when it reflects a story they already tell. Add a family branch, a hometown, a reunion year or a first name on a second line, and the shirt or mug turns into something they'd show people. Hoodies suit cold-weather households, and kids tees and baby onesies work well for a new Mertens in the family. Use the preview to check how the second line sits before you order.
