About this metal worker gift
Metal workers spend their days around cutting torches, welders, lathes and steel that's hot enough to hurt, so the gifts they actually use tend to be practical and a little rugged. A heavy hoodie for a cold shop floor, a dark tee that won't show grease as quickly, or an 11 oz mug that survives the lunch cooler all make sense. The most meaningful choices usually show that you understand the trade. Put their name on it, or the kind of work they do, like fabrication, welding, machining or sheet metal. Many designs have a second line, so you can add the shop name, a certification they worked for, or the year they finished their apprenticeship. That turns a generic metal worker shirt into one that's clearly theirs, the kind that gets worn to the job site rather than stuck in a drawer.
