About this ekwok gift
Ekwok is a small village on the Kanektok River in southwest Alaska, and most people who live there have a deep tie to the land, the river and the seasons that shape daily life. A Ekwok shirt is a way for someone who grew up there, or who now lives far away, to carry the name with them. Because the place is small, a shirt with the village name on it stands out, and it often sparks conversation with anyone who knows the area. For a person who has moved away, a mug with Ekwok on it can be a quiet reminder of home each morning. Consider adding a second line with a year, a family name or a nickname to make the piece feel personal. Choosing a design the recipient will wear on a river trip, a cold morning or a visit home is a good way to make the gift land.
