About this oaktown gift
Oaktown is a nickname people use for Oakland, and the people who claim it tend to claim it hard. It's a city with a long history of its own music, art, food and street culture, and a lot of people who grew up there still feel the pull of home no matter where they've landed. A shirt that says Oaktown is how they show that loyalty without having to explain the nickname to anyone. For the transplant who misses the Bay, a mug or hoodie is a daily reminder of where they're from. For someone who's lived in Oakland their whole life, it's a way to say that the city is theirs. Pick the design that fits their style, add a neighborhood or a year in the second line if it means something to them, and you've got a gift that sounds like the person.
