About this structural designer gift
Structural designers work on the bones of a building or a bridge, and most of their year goes into drawings, load calculations and site visits, often on projects that take years to finish. Their gift should reflect that long, detail-heavy work. A hoodie they can throw on for a cold site walk, or a tee for the weekend they finally get to step away from the drafting table. An 11 oz mug fits the early coffee before a long design review. The most personal touch is putting their title on the shirt, with the firm name or their own name beneath it. If you're buying for a whole project team, one design with each person's name on their own shirt makes a better thank-you than another catered lunch. Structural design is a career where people often finish a project they're proud of and then move on quickly, so a shirt or mug that marks the work and the person can mean a lot.
