About this bathgate gift
Bathgate is a small town in West Lothian, Scotland, and the name tends to mean something specific to the people who grew up there or moved away. Someone from Bathgate who lives somewhere else often wants a visible way to say where they're from, and a shirt or mug with the town name does that without a long explanation. For someone still living in or near the town, the gift works as a bit of local pride, the kind people wear to the shops or the pub without thinking about it. Since the town is small and its name may be unfamiliar to many people, a line of text under the main word can help: a street, a year they moved, or the school they went to. That second line is what turns a place name into something personal. A Bathgate hoodie suits the chilly months, and a mug fits the kitchen table where people catch up on home news.
