About this houghton gift
Houghton is a small place, and people who come from there tend to hold onto it. Think of the Upper Peninsula's long winters, lake-effect snow that never quite lets up, and the kind of town where everyone knows whose kid is whose. A Houghton shirt is how someone who grew up there, or went to school there, says so without a speech. It also works for the transplant who moved away and misses the cold and the quiet. Because the word is short and sounds like a town name, a second line does a lot of work: add the years they lived there, a school or a street, or a nickname the family used. A hoodie suits the person who still wears their old college sweatshirt every winter, and a mug fits the morning coffee of someone who talks about home more than they mean to. Check the preview to see how the words sit against the design before you order.
