About this painted post gift
Painted Post is a small village in Steuben County, New York, and the people who grew up there tend to carry it with them. A shirt with the village name is how a former resident shows they're from a place that's easy to miss on a map, and how they start a conversation with someone who's heard of it. For someone who moved away for school or work, a Painted Post tee or hoodie is a quiet reminder of a hometown that doesn't show up on most souvenir racks. It's a gift that rewards a little local knowledge, so if you know the street, the high school or the year they left, add it on a second line. A mug works well for the parent or grandparent who still lives there and wants to show it at the kitchen table.
