About this cascade gift
Cascade is a common enough word that it could mean a waterfall, a cascade of Cascade Mountains, or a place name, so the best gift starts with knowing which Cascade this person means. For someone who grew up near the Cascade Range or loves the Pacific Northwest, a shirt with the name is a quiet way of saying you know where they're from. The Cascades are a volcanic range of peaks, forests and rivers, and people from that part of the country tend to be proud of it, especially in the rain and fog that come with it. A Cascade hoodie suits the wet-weather hiker, and a mug fits the morning coffee ritual that a lot of Northwest people treat as serious business. Add a second line with a town, a trail or a year they moved there, and the shirt becomes about their particular corner of the map rather than a general souvenir.
