About this college hire gift
A college hire is someone who just stepped out of school and into their first real job, usually with a new badge, a stack of onboarding paperwork and a lot of questions they're too nervous to ask. The first year is long: learning the systems, figuring out the office politics and working out which coffee run is worth the trip. A gift that says college hire tells them you see where they've come from and where they're headed. A hoodie is useful for the cold office and the first couple of winters in a new city. A mug is the small daily reminder that this is their job now. Add the company name, the start year or the team they joined, and it becomes a record of their first step into work. College hire is also a phrase many recruiters and new grads use with pride, so a shirt with the words on it can be a bit of a joke between the two of you.
