About this development team lead gift
A development team lead usually started as a developer who was good at the work and then got pulled into keeping the rest of the team moving. They spend part of the day writing code or reviewing pull requests and the rest in planning meetings, one-on-ones and unblocking whoever is stuck. Most of their gifts come from coworkers who appreciate how much of the team's week runs through them. A tee or hoodie with their title is a nice way to mark the promotion or a job change, and a mug is the one thing on the desk that's clearly theirs during a long sprint. Add a second line with the team name, the product area or the year they took the role, and the shirt becomes a small record of where the team has been. The shirts come in light and dark, plus kids and baby sizes if the lead has a family at home who wants to join in.
