About this maryland gift
Maryland people are particular about it. They'll tell you the crab is a blue crab, the right way to eat it involves a mallet and a roll of brown paper, and the state flag is the best-looking one in the country. It's a small state with a lot packed in: the Chesapeake Bay, Ocean City boardwalk summers, Annapolis sailing, the mountains out in Garrett County, and the Baltimore rowhouse neighborhoods that every native can name by heart. That's why a gift for them lands best when it's specific. Type Maryland, or swap in Baltimore, Annapolis, Frederick or the county they grew up in, and add the year they moved, graduated or finally came home. For the transplant living three states away, a Maryland hoodie or mug is a small piece of the Bay on a cold morning. For the lifer, it's a shirt they'll wear to every summer cookout.
