About this policy advisor gift
A policy advisor spends a lot of time turning messy problems into memos, briefings and recommendations that someone else has to act on, often with a deadline already passed. The work is mostly reading, writing, meetings and waiting for the right person to reply. A gift that acknowledges that work lands well: a tee for the commute or a hoodie for the long stretch of drafting at home, and a mug that's clearly theirs for the coffee that gets them through the morning briefing. Add the word policy advisor on the front and, if you know it, their department or focus area on the second line, such as health, housing or energy. That turns a generic office gift into something that feels like it was picked by someone who knows what their days look like. Some people also like a title on a mug as a quiet nod to the job they worked hard to get.
