About this technical illustrator gift
Technical illustrators spend their days turning complicated machines, parts and processes into drawings someone else can actually follow, and the work is precise, patient and rarely credited. A technical illustrator might be drawing exploded views of aircraft components, cutaway diagrams of engines, or assembly instructions that a field tech will use on a cold morning with a wrench in hand. Gifts that land for them tend to nod to that precision: a clean shirt with the title on it, a mug that gets used for the long drafting sessions, or a hoodie for the studio or the cold drafting room. You can make the product theirs by adding a second line with their specialty, their company's team name, or the year they earned a certification, if they have one. Keep the text simple and crisp, the way their own labels are. A gift that reads like a job title they're proud of usually beats a joke about drawing.
