About this video game programmer gift
Video game programmers spend long stretches debugging, chasing frame rates and untangling someone else's code, so the gifts they keep tend to be the ones that acknowledge the hours. A soft tee for a late-night build, a hoodie for the chilly office or the couch during a crunch, and a mug for the coffee that keeps them going through a release week all land well. The best detail is the one that says what they actually do. Put their name on it, or the title they work under, like programmer, engineer or developer, and the shirt becomes theirs rather than a generic gamer tee. If they've shipped a game or moved into a new studio, a second line with the year makes it a small record of that work. For a whole dev team, one design with each person's name on their own shirt is a nicer way to mark a launch than another box of snacks.
