About this ambulatory nurse gift
Ambulatory nurses work in clinics, surgery centers, infusion suites and outpatient offices, and their days run differently from the hospital floor. The schedule is mostly daytime, the pace is quick, and the patients walk in and walk out again, so the job is a steady run of triage, teaching and follow-up calls. Many of them have picked this path because they wanted weekends and a life outside the building. A gift for them works best when it names the actual work. Skip the generic nurse slogan and put ambulatory nurse on a tee they'll wear on a day off, or add their clinic specialty, like pediatrics, oncology or ortho, on the second line. Add RN, BSN or their credential and it reads as theirs. For a whole clinic team, the Team Shop lets you print one design with each person's name, which beats another sheet cake in the break room. Nurses Week in early May is the obvious moment.
