About this fort richardson gift
Fort Richardson is a US Army post in Alaska, just north of Anchorage, and people who've been stationed there, raised there, or whose family served there tend to hold onto the name. Someone who spent a tour at Richardson or grew up on the post knows the long winters, the mountain views and the way a place like that becomes home for a few years. A shirt or hoodie with Fort Richardson on it is a quiet way to say that. For a soldier or a military family member, a mug with the post name is the kind of thing that stays on the desk through the next several moves. Add a year, a unit, or a second line with their name, and it becomes a keepsake of their particular time there. It works well as a gift for someone leaving Alaska, too, since the cold and the moose-crossing signs are a story they'll keep telling.
