About this librarian specialist gift
A librarian specialist is usually the person who knows where everything is, from the cataloging system to the one shelf nobody else can find. They help patrons with research, run story times, untangle interlibrary loans and keep the place running behind the reference desk. A gift that fits that work tends to be practical and a little quiet: a mug for the coffee they drink while answering three questions at once, a soft tee for a shift that involves a lot of walking and reshelving, or a hoodie for the chilly reading room. Putting their title on it matters, since specialist is the word that tells people what they actually do. Add the library or branch they work at on the second line, and the shirt becomes theirs in a way a generic book shirt never could. Many librarians would rather have something useful than something cute, so a mug or hoodie will often beat a novelty item.
