About this smugglers notch gift
Smugglers Notch is a mountain pass in Vermont's Green Mountains, and the name comes from the old stories of smuggling through the gap, which makes it a more interesting souvenir subject than most places. People who love it tend to love it for the same reasons: the winter skiing and snowboarding, the hiking in summer, and the drive up through the notch with the peaks on both sides. A shirt with the name is how they show they've been, and how they start a conversation with someone who hasn't. For a skier or snowboarder, a hoodie is the practical choice for the lodge after the last run. For a hiker or someone who just likes the Vermont woods, a light tee works for the trailhead and the drive home. Add a second line for the season they went, the year, or the trail they hiked, and the gift stops being a generic souvenir and becomes a record of their own trip.
