About this waimea gift
Waimea is a town on the Big Island of Hawaii, up on the high green slopes of the Kohala Mountains, where the air is cooler and the paniolo ranch country starts to roll out. People who live there often say the weather is nothing like the beach towns down the road, and that's part of why they stay. A Waimea shirt is a quiet way to say where you're from, whether that's for someone who grew up there, someone who visited the Parker Ranch area or the Waimea farmers' market and fell for it, or a friend who moved to the mainland and misses the mornings. Keep it simple with the town name on the front, or add a second line for a year or a family name to make it theirs. A mug works well for the kitchen of a Big Island transplant, and a hoodie suits anyone who knows that the upcountry nights get cold.
