About this bookbinder gift
Bookbinders work with their hands, and it shows: glue-stained fingers, a bone folder in the apron pocket, a bench covered in paper offcuts, thread and cloth. Some do this for a living, restoring old volumes or making fine bindings on commission. Others do it on weekends, stitching signatures at the kitchen table because they like the quiet. Either way, they're proud of the craft, and a gift that names it tells them you noticed. A tee or hoodie that says bookbinder is something they'll actually wear to the studio, where it's going to get a little messy anyway. Add a second line with their shop name, a binding style like Coptic or case binding, or the year they started, and it feels specific to them. A mug works well for the bench, though maybe keep it clear of the glue pot. For a bookbinding class or guild, one design with each person's name sorts out matching shirts.

- A hoodie for cold workshop morningsA hoodie that says bookbinder keeps them warm at the bench, and it's a solid pick for someone who works in a garage or spare room.
- A mug with their name or shopAn 11 oz mug with their name or bindery on it suits the studio shelf, and it won't get mixed up with anyone else's at a workshop.
