About this director camp gift
A camp director usually starts the summer with a clipboard, a stack of forms, and a list of counselors who need to be somewhere else, and ends it with a gym full of kids who won't stop talking about the week. Most directors give up their own summer to run the place, so a gift that says they belong to it lands well. Think of the things they carry: a hoodie for the chilly lake mornings, a mug for the coffee they drink while answering the same question for the fourth time, a tee for staff day. Add the name of the camp or the year they started, and the design stops being generic and becomes their camp. Directors often wear their camp on everything, so a shirt with the camp name on it is the one they'll reach for. Many camps are in full swing from June through August, so order a few weeks ahead if you're buying for a staff gift.
