About this director retirement gift
A director who's retiring has usually spent decades running something: a department, a school, a theater, a program, a team of people who still call them by their title out of habit. Retirement is a big shift, and a gift that treats it as a milestone rather than a farewell card tends to land well. Think about the parts of the job they'll miss most: the morning routine, the people, the sense of being the one who makes the call. A shirt or hoodie with director and the year they retired gives them something to wear to the first lazy weekend or the grandkids' game, a little nod to what they built. A mug is the everyday version, the one they'll reach for while reading the paper with no meeting to walk to. Personalize it with their name and the words that match the role, and it becomes theirs rather than a generic retirement token. For a group send-off, the Team Shop lets you put every colleague's name on the same design.
