About this emergency planner gift
Emergency planners spend their days thinking about what could go wrong and how a community would respond, so the gifts they tend to appreciate are practical and a little bit wry. They work for county offices, hospitals, universities and private firms, and many of them have spent long stretches on call, drafting evacuation plans or running drills that nobody notices when they go well. A shirt or hoodie with their title on it is a nice way to acknowledge that quiet work. Add their agency or department on the second line if you know it, or a year they started, and it becomes a piece they'll actually wear to the weekend farmers market. A mug suits the desk where the plans get written, especially on the long afternoons before a big exercise. Keep the wording to their real job title and let the design do the rest.
