About this channelview gift
Channelview is a small unincorporated community in Harris County, just east of Houston, and the people who call it home tend to hold on to it tightly. Many grew up on the shrimp boats and refinery shifts along the Houston Ship Channel, or in the family homes off the main roads, and they're proud of a place that doesn't always get noticed by the big city next door. A Channelview shirt is how they claim it, whether they still live there, moved to Houston for work, or left for school and came back for the holidays. Add a second line with the year they graduated from Channelview High School or the street they grew up on and it becomes a piece of their own history. For someone who has moved away, a mug with the town name is a daily reminder of where they're from. For a homebody who has never left, a hoodie for cold mornings at the ball field says the same thing with less fuss.
