About this garde manger gift
A garde manger is the cook who runs the cold station, so their day is cold salads, charcuterie boards, terrines, pâtés and the plated appetizers that come out before anything hot. It's precise work done in a chilly corner of the kitchen, usually with a lot of knife work and very little patience for shortcuts. The gifts that land are the ones that fit that life: a hoodie for the walk-in cooler, a tee that's comfortable under a chef's jacket on a long prep day, a mug for the first coffee before the cold station gets set up. Put garde manger on the shirt, add their kitchen or restaurant if you like, and it becomes theirs rather than a generic chef shirt. Culinary graduates in the trade often wear the title proudly, so a graduation gift with their new role is a good fit too.
