About this riveter gift
Riveters were the people who joined steel and aluminum on wartime ships, bombers and tanks, mostly during World War II when millions of women took factory jobs that had been closed to them. Rosie the Riveter became the image of that work, and today the word still carries pride in skilled hands and long shifts on a factory floor. A riveter in a shop or a plant today might be building aircraft parts, fabricating metal structures or working on vehicles, so a gift that reflects their trade lands well. Put their name on a tee, add the year they started, or add the shop or crew they work with. A dark tee or a hoodie suits someone who works in a hot or grimy shop, and a mug is the one they'll reach for at the start of the shift. Choosing a design that matches how they see the work is what makes it theirs.
