About this engineer intern gift
Engineering internships are short, intense, and a little bit of a test. Interns spend their days learning a codebase, sitting in design reviews where they're the only one not speaking, and running experiments that sometimes fail for reasons nobody can explain yet. A gift for an engineer intern should acknowledge that they're early in the climb without making them feel like a beginner. A tee or hoodie with their title on it gives them something to wear to the office on the first day, to the campus career fair, or to the end-of-summer party where everyone is comparing offer letters. A mug works well for the desk, where it will sit through the late-night debugging sessions and the coffee runs. If the internship is ending and they're heading back to school, a hoodie with their role and the year makes a good keepsake of the summer. Add their name or their program to make it theirs, and pick a design that matches how formal the workplace is, since some teams wear hoodies every day and others don't.
