Gifts from Abilene
Abilene is a West Texas city of a little under 130,000 people, known for its wide skies, big-hearted football fans and Hardin-Simmons and Abilene Christian universities on the prairie. People who grew up there carry it everywhere, whether they're back home for the holidays or working somewhere far away and missing the flat horizon and the Friday night lights. An Abilene shirt is how they say where they're from without a long explanation. Put a neighborhood, a high school class year or a family name on the second line and it becomes theirs, not just a souvenir. The hoodie suits cold mornings and college campus days, and the mug is for the transplant who wants a daily reminder of home. Abilene is a place where people know each other, so a design that names their street or their graduating year is the detail they'll notice.
